| Abstract: | An interview with Lambert Shell, director of programs and services at Queens Library in Queens, New York, is presented. When asked about the success of the library in improving its teen service, he mentions how it decided to take a youth development approach to establish better relations between its staff and the teenagers who use the local libraries. He reveals the getting youth counselors to understand the library environment is the most unexpected thing that happened in the early advocacy process. He notes that its advocacy message is still the same. |
