Epstein, Daniel Pianko, a partner at University School of Law, Jon Schnur, chairman of the board of New Leaders for New Schools, and Joshua Wyner of the Aspen Institute. They discuss the effort of the U.S. government to close the gap between the advanced and the low-performing students. They discuss how the achievement of these students is affected by giving more focus on reading and math proficiency. They also explain the role of educators in ensuring that the gaps between these types of learners are closed.
