Abstract: The article argues that the intangible elements of a business' success should be measured. According to the author, this includes areas such as leadership, communication, and teamwork. It is inferred that the measurement of intangibles is often avoided because of a fear of accountability and that results might lead to personal attacks. Emphasis is placed on the benefits of taking intangibles into consideration and details related to how measurement can focus attention, create accountability, and facilitate feedback are discussed.
