Abstract: In this article, the authors discuss the 12 brain rules and its principles for surviving and thriving at home, work and school from developmental molecular biologist John Medina at the University of Washington School of Medicine. The authors ponder whether performing in an ensemble have the same effect as exercise to increase brain power. They also notes the importance of symbolic reasoning in the process of making and understanding music.
