Abstract: In this article the authors comment on various aspects of school turnaround measures that lead to enduring success for the school. They argue for a school turnaround model that has a better strategy than the four turnaround models of the U.S. Department of Education. Their model, called Investment Model, emphasizes the role of school district investment in teacher collaboration, emphasis on formative assessment, and flexible school schedules that allow students more time for support.
