Abstract: In this article the author discusses research related to early childhood education and stresses the importance of researchers providing context to both educators and parents in order to allow them to apply such research practices to learning environments in schools and the home. Focus is given to topics including the research elements of the children's television program "Sesame Street," Head Start education programs for preschool children, and cognitive development in children.
