Abstract: The article describes a science project called "The Friendship Detector," which consists of wiring simple electric circuits to create a decision-making device. Details on the project, which requires students to create four yes or no questions regarding their criteria for friendship and design and build an electric circuit incorporating switches corresponding to their questions, are presented. The project's educational value and reactions from students are also discussed.
