| Abstract: | The article examines the issue of college and career preparation for students from a developmental angle, including students' psychology, sociology, and brain development. The article focuses on how students develop individual identity and stay educationally motivated. The article suggests that teachers should understand adolescent development, support their students' development of individual identity, and keep them motivated and focused on academic achievement. It also recommends discussing character development in the classroom by analyzing public figures and characters from books, offering students time during the day to work on specialized skills such as art, sports and technology, and rewarding students' effort over grades. |
