Abstract: The article presents the author's insights regarding the existence of emotions. The author recalls her emotional silence during her first semester as a writing teacher, in which she thinks that it can be drawn to her willingness to serve her students. She says that although emotions are not inevitably private, people are always in community. She suggests that through the presence of emotion, people are able to learn.
