Abstract: The article analyzes the effectiveness of the National Assessment Program--Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) in Australia. NAPLAN is applicable for all students in years 3, 5, 7 and 9. NAPLAN tests show how education programs are working and which areas need to be prioritised for improvement. NAPLAN has significant impact and consequence for schools, teachers, students and parents.
