Abstract: The article explores the developments in the British National Health Service (NHS) which it claims contributed to the slow end of the NHS. It discusses a series of liberal reforms during the administration of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, the austerity measures and the passage by the Conservative-led government of Prime Minister David Cameron in 2012 of the Health and Social Care Act in 2012 which opens the NHS to privatization.
