Abstract: The article discusses the importance of taking a deliberate and focused approach to providing support for students with behavioral problems, focusing on a case study of the author's experience of addressing a 4th grade student with depression's increasing misbehavior. Topics addressed include the development of a behavior plan to address the student's need for attention and lack of self-regulation, as well as adapting the plan to deal with setbacks and changes in behavior.
