Abstract: The article discusses computational thinking as a tool in science classrooms, based on the Framework for K-12 Science Education and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Topics discussed include differentiation of computational thinking from mathematical thinking, the Venn diagram, and description of computational thinking practice for middle school in NGSS. It also mentions use of simulations for computational thinking, and differences between data mining and data acquisition and analysis.
