Abstract (English): The effect of welding current on the chemical composition and microstructure of Fe-Cr-C deposits obtained by SMAW and used for working under abrasive and erosive wear conditions was evaluated. Chemical composition of the deposit without dilution was determined and microstructure of the deposits was obtained with and without dissolution. The dilution coefficient was determined based on the geometry of the deposits and the chemical composition of the deposits for different welding currents based on it. It is concluded that all the deposits respond to the AWS EFeCr-A4 designation, characterized by a high predominance of eutectic, being suitable for working in conditions of abrasive and erosive wear. As the current increases, the content of alloying elements decreases due to dilution. The deposit obtained with a 110 A current is considered more appropriate, because 90 A current has very little penetration, which makes adherence difficult. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Spanish): Se evaluó el efecto de la corriente de soldadura sobre la composición química y la microestructura de depósitos Fe-Cr-C obtenidos por SMAW y destinados a trabajo en condiciones de desgaste abrasivo y erosivo. Se determinó la composición química del depósito sin dilución y se obtuvo la microestructura de los depósitos sin dilución y con ella. En base a la geometría de los depósitos se determinó el coeficiente de dilución y a partir de este la composición química de los depósitos para diferentes corrientes de soldadura. Se concluye que todos los depósitos responden a la designación AWS EFeCr-A4, caracterizada por alto predominio de la eutéctica, siendo apropiados para el trabajo en condiciones de desgaste abrasivo y erosivo. Al aumentar la corriente, el contenido de elementos de aleación disminuye por causa de la dilución. Se considera como más apropiado el depósito obtenido con corriente de 110 A, ya que el de 90 A presenta muy poca penetración, lo que dificulta la adherencia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
