Abstract: Determining the geometry of crustal magmatic plumbing systems of the Wudalianchi volcanic region in Northeast China is fundamental for characterizing the behavior of the volcanic activity. However, the underlying crustal magmatic structure remains debated due to the lack of a dense seismograph network. In this study, we construct a high-resolution 3-D shear-wave velocity crustal model using full-wave ambient noise tomography based on 42 new temporary stations. The new seismic model reveals a middle crustal magma reservoir with an estimated melt fraction of ~ 2.4–4% beneath the Wudalianchi volcano. The significant mid-crust low-velocity layer may indicate the presence of a horizontally interconnected channel, which can transport the magmatic materials directly between the Wudalianchi and Keluo volcanoes. Additionally, the middle crustal magma reservoir of the latest erupted Wudalianchi volcano may be fed by the deeper magma reservoir below the Keluo volcano. These new findings offer valuable insights into the geometry and connectivity of the volcanic plumbing systems of the Wudalianchi volcanic region. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
