Abstract (English): In this work it is made an analysis based on the possibility of using pirolusite to obtain manganese alloys and slags with a system of oxide MnO-SiO2-CaO with proper characteristics to develop fluxes used in sumerged arc welding (SAW). In regard with the chemical composition of the manganese minerals, calculations of the reduction process are made with the use of non-flux technology in the presence of ke as a reductor, obtaining thus the right compositions and properties of the process products. An experiment is carried out to obtain ferromanganese with the addition of dolomite, kaolin and fluorspar as modifiers of the slag. A matrix of flux is prepared for the submerged arc welding with the slag and its technological welding properties are assessed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (Spanish): En el presente trabajo se realiza un análisis de la posibilidad de empleo de pirolusita en el desarrollo de aleaciones al manganeso y escorias con un sistema de óxidos MnO-SiO2-CaO con características propias para el desarrollo de fundentes para la soldadura automática para arco sumergido (SAAS.) A partir de la composición química del mineral de manganeso se realizan los cálculos del proceso de reducción con el empleo de la tecnología sin fundente en presencia de coque como reductor, obteniéndose las adecuadas composiciones y las propiedades de los productos del proceso. Se realiza una corrida experimental de obtención de ferromanganeso con adiciones de dolomita, caolín y fluorita como correctores de la escoria. Se conforma una matriz de fundente para arco sumergido con la escoria y se le evalúan las propiedades tecnológicas de soldadura. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
