Abstract: The study presents the results of modeling the turbulent exchange between a heterogeneous surface and the atmosphere. The surface and vertical measurements of the Mukhrino multiplatform observation campaign are used. To describe two types of heterogeneous surfaces, a special configuration of the LES (Large Eddy Simulation) model has been developed. The surface types are close to the ones observed in the Mukhrino bog complex. The influence of surface heterogeneity on the characteristics of turbulent exchange is evaluated. The difference in the turbulent exchange characteristics due to surface inhomogeneity has been calculated by the LES, and it has been found that it is consistent with the observation data for different types of landscape from the Mukhrino test site.
