| Abstract: | A comparative analysis was carried out of the characteristics of various configurations of compact permanent magnet quadrupoles for use in compact linear proton accelerators for applied purposes. Configurations of both classical variants with different numbers of segments M made of permanent magnets, and hybrid variants with poles made of ferromagnets were investigated over a wide range of element sizes.
