| Abstract: | This paper presents a 3-Bridge LLC resonant converter featuring wide output voltage gain characteristics and a novel control method. To achieve operation within a narrower frequency control range, the proposed converter introduces one additional operational mode compared to the previously suggested 3-bridge topology. The converter is configured to have five distinct operation modes, controlled by the switching patterns of the main switches, to enable wide-range output voltage regulation. In each mode, frequency modulation is employed for output voltage control. Furthermore, a morphing control strategy is utilized to ensure stable output voltage regulation during mode transitions. The validity and practical applicability of the proposed 3-bridge LLC resonant converter with five operation modes are verified through experimental results from a 6 kW prototype.
