| Abstract: | Benefit evaluation furnishes a valuable reference for the formulation and execution of rural ecological restoration policies. This paper employs choice experiment and multinomial logit model to dissect rural residents' ecological restoration preference. The paper gauges the benefit associated with rural ecological restoration within the "Study Site" and crafts a benefit transfer model to prognosticate the benefit within the "Policy Site." The results show that rural residents exhibit a preference for ecological restoration, albeit with variations in preference across distinct regions. Specifically, based on the results within the "Study Site," the upsurge in benefit stemming from ecological restoration in Haikou, Dongfang, Lingshui, and Qiongzhong amounts to 414.541 CNY, 467.625 CNY, 619.374 CNY, and 491.463 CNY per household, respectively. Utilizing the benefit transfer model to prognosticate the benefit variations within the "Policy Site," the ultimate evaluation indicates that ecological restoration in Hainan can confer a cumulative benefit of 719.7 million CNY upon the residents. These findings serve as a pivotal point of reference for the advancement of rural ecological restoration within tropical regions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
