Abstract: In the face of environmental problems such as the decline of fishery resources, policy intervention is a powerful response. To facilitate the sustainable development of fishery resources, the Chinese government has implemented the most extensive and longest-lasting policy intervention, namely the 10-year fishing ban on the Yangtze River. This study explores consumers' green consumption intention under policy intervention. Besides, the study integrates the TPB into a unified analytical framework, and clarifies the influencing factors and potential logical mechanisms of consumers' sustainable consumption of wild freshwater aquatic products. The authors collected data from 1189 respondents in 10 provinces and municipalities in the Yangtze River Basin by questionnaire survey. The structural equation model (CB-SEM&PLS-SEM), regional heterogeneity tests and robustness tests are used to analyze these data. The results manifest that: (1) Policy intervention (PI), attitude (ATT), subjective norm (SN), and perceived behavior control (PBC) have the direct and significant influence on green consumption intention (GCI); (2) Attitude mediates the relationship between subjective norm and consumption intention; (3) Policy intervention has a significant influence on green consumption intention, and the impact on eastern China is more significant. This study can provide a necessary reference for public policy interventions to promote consumers' green consumption or sustainable consumption. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
