| Abstract: |
Chapter 4 of the book "Oil--An Overview of the Petroleum Industry," by Robert Grace is presented. It discusses the production, reservoir engineering and marketing of oil to end users. When drilling results to a substantial production of oil, a reservoir which contains enough energy to allow the free flow of hydrocarbon to the surface is set up. The oil is transported to bulk users through pipelines in the form of natural gas. If pipelines cannot be installed, the gas is transformed to liquefied natural gas (LNG) and transported by tank trucks or ships. |
