| Abstract: | In this article the author discusses how to ensure electric power reliability in the U.S. According to the author, power generating companies, system managers, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) need to coordinate their actions and policies to avoid potentially disastrous power-supply shortage in near future. The author says that renewable sources such as wind and solar energy are generally intermittent, and gas-powered generation seems to be a reliable option. |
