Abstract: This article discusses the construction and architectural techniques in environmentally-friendly and energy efficient buildings. The author comments on solar, alternative, and bioclimatic architectural styles, which were developed in the 1990s. She also considers the economic benefits of employing energy efficient and eco-friendly elements into buildings. Several photographs are presented that demonstrate such green buildings throughout Spain. An analysis of the Edificio Amigos building at the Universidad de Navarra, which finished constructed in 2012, is also provided.
