| Abstract: | This article presents the extent of the success of waste banks conducted by the government in collaboration with the community. This research was conducted in West Bandung Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia. The results showed that waste management carried out in West Bandung Regency had not been effective. Of the 33 waste bank units formed, none had yet shown the expected optimisation of waste management. These findings confirmed that the management of waste banks in developing countries was still at an alarming rate. Some of the reasons were related to inadequate public budgets and limited facilities for waste management. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
