| Abstract: | This study identifies those colleges and universities in the United States which sponsor or collaborate on overseas student teaching programs. Of 170 colleges and universities contacted in the 50 states, 27 programs were identified and reported. Two information gathering procedures were used: a) an investigation of selective literature search and correspondence with the programs producing limited results and b) individually typed letters were sent to colleges and universities with 10,000 or more students. Respondents were asked to describe in letter form or existing printed material their overseas student teaching programs and suggest names of existing institutions sponsoring or collaborating on such programs. The programs are described and structured as follows: 1) Programs are reported by state. 2) Reporting has been limited to overseas student teaching programs. 3) Only programs in operation during the development of this monograph are included. 4) An attempt to preserve the integrity of every program description has been made through close scrutiny of the materials provided by the respondents. Six recommendations were made. Followup studies cannot be implemented until a greater number of returning participants are employed in positions in which the relative effects of overseas student teaching experience can be measured.
