Abstract: Documentation centers are needed to handle the vast amount of scientific and technical information currently being issued. Such centers should be concerned both with handling inquiries in a particular field and with producing a general catalog of current information. Automatic analysis of texts by computers will be the best way to handle material, but, until that is possible, a semi-automatic method which calls for manual analysis for key-words and syntactic relations among them is a suitable method for the retrieval of information. The use of microfiche and the publication of current catalogs of documents contribute to a more efficient operation. A thesaurus listing key-words and their synonyms is also a suggested means for facilitating research. (VM)
