Abstract: To determine the effects of videorecording experience on the communication process in community college sophomore nursing students, 20 students were randomly assigned to two groups. One group received 90-minute sessions of videorecording/feedback experience twice weekly for five weeks. The control group was not exposed to the experimental variable. Both groups were pre- and posttested on a Communication Skill Behavior Check List for Empathy and Dogmatism. The experimental group's experience consisted of student construction of communication situations, utilization of the communication process guidelines, observation and increased sensitivity to nonverbal and verbal cues in the communications process, and group discussion of attitudes following replay sessions. Test results showed no significant differences in scores of the experimental group and the control group. (SK)
