Abstract: This index covers the "Northeast Conference [on the Teaching of Foreign Languages] Reports of the Working Committees" from 1954 to 1975. Author and subject entries are combined in one listing, and although authors, editors, members of the working committees, and others mentioned in the Reports are included, the emphasis throughout is on concepts rather than on individuals. In addition, ample cross references have been provided between major listings, including those that might not occur to the reader. However, very obvious or repetitious cross references have sometimes been eliminated, so that the reader's knowledge of his field will in many cases suggest other cross references. To avoid overburdening the Index with names, name entries have been restricted to the most necessary and useful ones. Each entry is followed by the appropriate date and page reference. In addition, a list is provided which contains the contents of the Northeast Conference Reports for the years 1954 to 1962. (Author/AM)
