Abstract: This manual was prepared by experienced wastewater collection system workers to provide a home study course to develop new qualified workers and expand the abilities of existing workers. The objective of this manual is to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for certification. Participants learn to effectively operate and maintain wastewater collection systems to reduce health hazards and prevent system failures. Each of the eleven lessons deals with a different aspect of wastewater collection systems such as: safety, inspection, pipeline cleaning, underground repair, new construction and administration. Each lesson contains discussion and review questions and is completed with an objective test. (CS)
