Abstract: The proceedings of this conference, which examined the relationship between mathematical programming and the computer, contains the texts of most of the 50 papers presented and a summary of one discussion panel addressing such facets of this theme as the design for, use of, implementation of, and implications for mathematical programming software and computations. Particular emphasis was placed on bringing out computer-oriented subject matter not ordinarily presented in a mathematical programming context. (Author/CMV)
