Abstract: Intended for instructional personnel working with rural handicapped and nonhandicapped children (birth through 5 years), the documents provide English and Spanish versions of a checklist of behaviors to record an individual child's developmental progress, a card file listing possible methods of teaching these behaviors, and a manual of direction. The guide presents instructions for developing an individualized curriculum in six developmental areas: infant stimulation, socialization, language, self help, cognition, and motor skills. Following a description of the developmental areas are sections which address using the checklist and card file, planning curriculum goals (behavioral objectives, task analysis, types of aid, and correction procedures); and implementing curriculum goals (reinforcement and prerequisites for learning). The checklist lists 140 behaviors and contains space for entering child's age level, entry behavior, date achieved, and comments. The card file offers guidelines for developing skills relevant to the 140 behaviors covered in the checklist. (SBH)
