Abstract: Ten selected papers and a panel discussion are included in these conference proceedings. The first paper is entitled "The Emergence of Women in Twentieth-Century Chilean History and Literature" (Caroline Richards). The second paper is "Attitudes Toward Gender in Two Cultures: Puerto Rico and the United States" (Margaret Berrio, Maria Fernandez, Debbie Hinkle, and Vicky Phillips). The third paper, "Still Crazy After All These Years: The Uses of Madness in Women's Fiction" (Gail Griffin), compares and contrasts the uses of female madness in five fictional works. The fourth paper, "Feminist Counseling" (Anna DiStefano), examines counseling from a feminist perspective. Other papers include "A Dialogue, Critical Issues in Women's Studies: Race, Class, and Sexual Orientation" (Eva Hooker and Anna DiStefano), "Women, Reproductive Freedom, and the Law: A Selected Annotated Bibliography" (Patricia A. Langley), "The Art of Quilting: Thoughts from a Contemporary Quilter" (Joyce Parr), "Two in One, One in Two: An Exploration of a Birth Experience and Images of the Sacred" (Ronald L. Massanari), "Can a Man Teach Women's Studies?" (Cyrus W. Banning), and "Analyzing Discrimination Against Women in the Labor Market--A Few Lessons from John Stuart Mill" (Robin Klay).
