Abstract: Intergenerational activities are any activities planned to be of mutual benefit to more than one age group. This manual concentrates on school-age children and older adults sharing experiences in the library or elsewhere using library materials. The following four models are introduced: (1) Sharing Letters; (2) Sharing Stories; (3) Sharing History; and (4) Sharing Fun. They range from simple to complex, and include one-time and ongoing activities for a library to do alone or with interagency cooperation. Changing demographics mean an increasing number of older adults in Texas and a growing need for services for them. The guide explores how to conduct and evaluate intergenerational programs, including working with older adult volunteers and children. (Contains 57 references.) (SLD)
