| Abstract: | Grade Level Evaluation (GLE) is a computerized criterion-based reference examination designed for elementary schools and secondary schools. The advanced software program is coupled with an in-depth curriculum covering basic computational and critical thinking skills for each grade. This packet introduces the software and its use. GLE is a mastery-outcome examination that provides an accurate measurement of skills that a student has or has not mastered at an optimal level rather than at the minimum level. The GLE examinations analyze a student's performance in terms of skill comprehension and relative speed in completing each skill. Through the GLE's software technology, feedback is immediate via computers in the schools. GLE will align directly with a school district's curriculum and can be a quality control tool for the individual school. In addition, GLE can inform parents of their child's masteries and deficiencies, as well as provide an outline of how parents can be involved in their children's schooling. The parent report includes a tutorial that parents can use with their children. GLE includes several types of reports, with summary assessment and full text assessment reports, a grouping of students by skills not mastered, an effective skill mastery report, an actual mastery report, and a report that allows test administrators to review incorrect answers by each student. Sample reports are provided for each of these categories for Level 4 mathematics. Eight figures and two tables illustrate the discussion. (SLD) |
