Abstract: This document presents statistics and input-output measures for K-12 school libraries in Colorado for 2002. Data are presented by type and size of school, i.e., high schools (six categories ranging from 2,000 and over to under 300), junior high/middle schools (five categories ranging from 1,000-1,999 to under 300), elementary schools (four categories ranging from 700-999 to under 300), and combined schools (four categories ranging from 700-999 to under 300). Information provided for each school library includes: school identification (district, address, city, county, zip code); respondent identification (name, title, phone, fax, e-mail); service hours per typical week; library staffing per typical week; activities of paid staff percentage of hours per week; library usage per typical week; computers with access to school library resources; Internet access for students; school library collection; and annual operating expenses. Data on the following benchmarks is included: staffing ratios; weekly service ratios; collection ratios; percentage of weekly library staff hours spent in leadership or collaborative activities; and funding ratios. State totals by school level and enrollment range are given for: services per typical week; staff; collections; computer access; and budgets. (MES)
