Abstract: The inclusion of autistic youth within the faith community appears to be a challenge for churches. The problem addresses the lack of inclusion for individuals identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who attend church services, specifically Sunday school. Individuals impacted by this problem are ASD individuals, their parents, and Sunday school teachers. The purpose of this qualitative multiple-case study was to understand how the inclusion of autistic youth can be promoted through providing supportive teaching methods and strategies by Sunday school teachers in faith communities. A case study design was used to determine the Sunday school teacher's and Superintendent's knowledge of ASD and any lack of inclusion for individuals living with ASD in the faith community. The following conceptual framework for this study, the inclusion of ASD individuals and their families in the faith community is a model by Goldstein and Jones Ault (2015). This model was suggested for this case study because it will help church communities that are hopeful of providing ASD individuals and their families with Sunday school services. Three research questions guided this research study in addressing the needs of the ASD individuals their families, and the faith community. The sample size of the case study was eight. The data collection tools used included interviews and the researcher reflective journal. Responses were manually read, coded, and analyzed to identify contextual content which connected to research questions. I applied inductive analysis along with NVivo qualitative software to analyze the data. As a results nine themes emerged where instruction as it relates promoting inclusion of the ASD young adult in the faith community, promoting support for the ASD population, introduction of model programs, inclusive strategies and teaching materials developed. The results indicated that parents of the ASD young adults and the community both could see the benefits of inclusion of ASD young adults in the faith community.
