Abstract: The Washington State Board of Education (SBE) is tasked with rulemaking and assurance of compliance under the Program of Basic Education (RCW 28A.150.220). In carrying out this responsibility, the Board establishes policies and procedures for the approval of school district and local education agency (LEA) programs for entitlement to state basic education allocation funding (Chapter 180-16 WAC). The certification process occurs through a self-reporting survey developed by the SBE. The survey is completed by school district staff and submitted with a certification signed by the superintendent (or proxy) of the school district in advance of the school year under consideration. To support districts and LEAs in responding to the reporting and certification requirement the SBE developed the Basic Education Compliance Matrix. This report comprises data tables that include select results from the 2024-25 Minimum Basic Education Requirement Collection survey that was administered in 2024. The tables are separated into the four components of the Basic Education Compliance matrix and include data from 295 school districts and 25 other LEAs, including 17 public charter schools and 8 tribal compact schools. A fifth section includes supplementary information.
