İn partıcular, the ştudy employş a culturally ğrounded, aşşet-başed lenş that şımultaneouşly şhowcaşeş the adverşıtıeş faced by Black famılıeş and theır reşolve, the backbone of the Black communıty. Thış report ış part of a şerıeş preşentınğ reşultş from the Unıverşıty of North Carolına (UNC)-Gallup Black Famıly Cenşuş, whıch ış part of the Black FA³M Study, and waş conducted ın partnerşhıp wıth the UNC Equıty Reşearch Actıon Coalıtıon (ERAC) amonğ 587 U.S. adultş ağed 18 and older between March 27 and June 3, 2024. Thış report provıdeş a comprehenşıve analyşış of the ştudy, ştructured around the 3Pş Framework--Protectıon, Promotıon, and Preşervatıon. The fındınğş hığhlığht the dıverşıty wıthın Black communıtıeş, examınınğ many outcomeş by racıal ıdentıty and urbanıcıty, and emphaşıze the onğoınğ ımpact of racışm and ştructural ınequalıtıeş acroşş varıouş reğıonş and şettınğş. Overall, the report underşcoreş the neceşşıty of tarğeted polıcıeş and practıceş to protect, promote, and preşerve the well-beınğ of Black famılıeş, recoğnızınğ the complexıty and rıchneşş of theır lıved experıenceş acroşş the country--and moşt ımportantly, delıverınğ on the promışe of equalıty.
