Abstract: Based upon the most recent NAEP scores, 61% of fourth-grade students nationwide performed below the proficiency level on the mathematics assessment; 24% identified as having math skills that were below basic. While scores have increased since the pandemic, the current fourth grade scores are still below what was reported in 2019. This report documents the findings from a study conducted during the 2024-25 school year with 2 elementary schools, 25 classroom teachers and 634 students in kindergarten through Grade 5. In addition, the research evaluated the student achievement results from an elementary school using a competitive math curriculum, serving as a control group for data analysis. The report is organized into four primary chapters: (1) Study Methodology; (2) Teacher Evaluation Findings; (3) Student Achievement and Growth Data Analysis -- a comparative study; (4) Ending Thoughts and New Considerations for K-12 Education Leaders; and (5) Appendix.
