| Abstract: | Early education establishes building blocks for student learning. In 2019, Texas schools began implementing a new funding allotment for early education. The Texas Legislature created it to provide additional funding for school districts to direct toward improving reading and math outcomes for students in kindergarten through third grade (TEA, 2019). This brief gives an overview of the early education allotment purpose and spending as of 2024. It also provides a snapshot of how three Texas school districts use their early education allotment. |
