| Abstract: | Digital marketing training is increasingly relevant to students in tier-2 and semi-urban cities where local businesses, educational institutions, clinics, retailers, and service providers require practical online visibility, lead generation, and content communication skills. This research brief synthesises education policy context, digital-skills literature, and practice-based training observations to propose a career-readiness framework for short-term digital marketing education in Punjab, India. The brief uses a desk-review and curriculum-mapping approach rather than primary survey data. It identifies five competency domains that should be developed together: search and website fundamentals, content and communication, paid media and analytics, ethical use of AI-enabled tools, and employability behaviours such as reporting, client communication, and portfolio presentation. The brief argues that student outcomes improve when institutes combine theory, guided practice, live project simulation, transparent assessment rubrics, and portfolio evidence. It concludes with recommendations for institutes, students, and local employers to make digital marketing education more credible, measurable, and employment-orientated.
