| Abstract: | In 2025, charter school advocates notched significant policy wins nationwide. Across a range of political climates, states strengthened charter funding and facilities, authorizing, and autonomy--impacting millions of charter school students across the country. Charter school advocates successfully fended off more than 100 anti-charter school bills from coast to coast. The most harmful of these bills proposed to place moratoriums on charter school growth, eliminate non-district authorizing pathways, cut charter school funding, and remove charter schools' flexibility to innovate. This report provides highlights from 2025's state legislative activity across the country, organized into the following categories: (1) funding and facilities; (2) authorizing and accountability; (3) other issues; and (4) "no law" states. |
