Abstract: In response to the tragic death of Caleb Wilson, a 20-year-old Southern University and A&M College student, whose death was reportedly connected to an alleged fraternity hazing ritual, House Concurrent Resolution 37 of the 2025 Regular Session established the Caleb Wilson Hazing Prevention Task Force. The Task Force was mandated to evaluate the effectiveness of the existing state anti-hazing laws and institutional hazing prevention policies, while also developing recommendations for reform. Since its establishment, the Task Force has convened four times and held a statewide summit during which the members reviewed existing anti-hazing policies, gathered input from both school and university leaders, and closely evaluated how disciplinary consequences are defined. This report includes key findings and recommendations generated from the discussion of Task Force members in public meetings and best practices as shared by nationally recognized experts in hazing prevention. The Board of Regents submits this report to the Louisiana Legislature as a reflection of the shared commitment to advancing meaningful, sustainable reforms that strengthen campus safety across the state's public postsecondary education institutions.
