Abstract: More than half of college students in the 2024 Student Financial Wellness Survey reported feeling lonely sometimes or always. Loneliness is linked to poorer mental health and lower institutional satisfaction, which can impact students' ability to persist and complete their education. Addressing student loneliness presents a strategic opportunity for institutions to improve retention, strengthen belonging, and support student wellbeing.
