Abstract: This report provides earnings data for education support professionals (ESPs) working in K-12 schools and higher education institutions. There are more than 3 million ESPs working in public education, 75 percent of whom work in K-12 schools, and 25 percent of whom work at higher education (HE) institutions. In K-12 schools, the most common career family for ESPs is paraeducator (40.9 percent), followed by clerical services (16.4 percent) and custodial services (15.0 percent). For higher education, clerical services positions are the most common (36.5 percent), followed by paraeducators, including graduate assistants (20.9 percent) and technical services (15.2 percent).
