Abstract: India's expanding middle-class has fuelled the demand for international education as it provided a pathway for better quality of life and career. According to Reserve Bank of India data, Indian families and students spent USD 3.71 billion in 2025 on international education -- an increase of 31% compared to USD 2.83 billion in 2018. However, tightening of visa and immigration policies along with increasing cost of studying abroad due to currency devaluation has dampened the interest of Indian students to consider studying in the traditional big-four destinations: US, UK, Australia and Canada. At a time when student mobility options are tightening and uncertainty about recovering educational investment is rising, the aspirations of students and parents for alternatives are converging with the arrival of foreign universities in India under a new regulatory framework. This report used UniGrid™ -- an analytical framework to classify and compare universities on two axes -- academic ranking and total tuition fee -- and groups them into four easy-to-understand segments: MAXIMISER -- better ranked, lower tuition fee; PREMIER -- better ranked, higher tuition fee; ECONOMISER -- lower ranked, lower tuition fee; EXPLORER -- lower ranked, higher tuition fee.
