| Abstract: | The need for online educational tools has increased significantly since the COVID-19 pandemic forced many students to embrace distance learning as a classroom alternative. While many instructors have used "Edpuzzle" to enhance distance learning, there has been little research that assesses and compares the views of teachers and students on the tool's advantages and disadvantages. To examine the perceived advantages and disadvantages of using "Edpuzzle" for classroom learning, we surveyed a sample of 152 professors and their students on their experience with the tool. The results reveal numerous advantages, including that "Edpuzzle" is a motivating, dynamic, and novel self-learning tool for students. Likewise, the professors point out that it is easy to use, focuses the attention of students, and is versatile. The disadvantages of the tool mostly had to do with technological challenges and potential boredom. Based on this evaluation, it was concluded that students have a preference for graphic and visual material to complement other learning tools to help them better understand the lessons. When weighing the advantages and disadvantages posed by the professors and their students, it was found that the unique combination of interactive teaching that "Edpuzzle" provides is promising for the future. |
