Abstract: We analyzed data from a national sample to explore whether school counselors participated in induction programs and mentoring and how that participation impacted burnout and work engagement. Results indicated that, although school counselors often had mentors, most did not participate in induction programs. Both work engagement and burnout improved when participants engaged in induction programs and mentoring. We discuss the implication of these findings for practice and future research.
