Abstract: The reproducibility crisis in the sciences is now well established. Curiously, only sporadic attention has been paid to it in kinesiology. This is a mistake. The scientific research produced in kinesiology is not exempt from the causes of the crisis. These causes include human, statistical and philosophical limitations inherent to the scientific enterprise. Moreover, evidence of the frequency of poor research design, and/or outright fraud in kinesiology can be identified. Recognizing and then addressing these limitations -- wherever possible -- is vital to maintaining the integrity of scientific research in kinesiology. This critique of the reproducibility crisis in kinesiology examines the human and statistical causes of the crisis in hopes of spurring the discipline to action, including initiating a closer examination of the philosophical issues involved, as well as a discussion of practical steps to be taken by the leaders of kinesiology to address this crisis.
